In a full 55-minute POP Pilates® class, you'll experience a mix of modern, upbeat, and classical Pilates exercises all set to a heart-pumping playlist. Each song track has a different focus, including Total Body Opener, Hundreds, Crazy Cardio, Ab Challenge, Back Work, Thigh Burnout, Flexibility, and so much more! We mean it when we say no muscle is left untouched.
Designed as an equipment-free class with a range of movement modifications, POP Pilates® is for everybody.

The Story of POP Pilates®
I was first introduced to Pilates while watching a Saturday morning infomercial on TV as a high schooler. Mari Winsor came on with her 2 backup models doing the Teaser so gracefully and beautifully. For some reason, it was so intriguing to me - the way they moved with such effortless control - that I wanted to do everything I could to be just like them. I begged my parents to buy me the program so I could practice their exact routines! After weeks of pleading, they finally gave in.
I remember religiously doing my Pilates every evening after school for several months. At first, The Hundreds would make me so sore! Then, I noticed how strong my core was getting and how much longer I could last without taking a break. The progress had me hooked.
In college, my friends would see me practicing Pilates and ask me to teach them. So, I started informally leading my first ever classes in the dorm lounge. Later on, I’d go on to get certified and begin teaching at local gyms. I first taught Classical Pilates at small boutique studios and eventually landed a permanent spot on the schedule at big box gyms where I began testing out my own upbeat version of Pilates.
When I began adding pop music to the exercises and moving to the beat, my class numbers started to take off like crazy! My classes were packed and people were lining up to get in! I called it... POP Pilates.
All was going well, until I found out that I had gotten a job offer that would take me across the country. Even though teaching wasn’t my primary job at the time, it was a true source of joy for me. Getting to be with my students every week brought me so much purpose and so much happiness. We had formed a real community, and having to leave my students was devastating. There wasn’t even anyone who could cover my class slot because no one else taught POP Pilates.
But then...I had an idea.
I had heard of some website where you could share videos. It was mostly full of cat videos and weird internet jokes, but I thought I could record a Pilates video and put it up there, too. Maybe my students could watch my workout and do it whenever they missed me. Maybe we could still be a part of each other’s lives if we could work out together.
So, I filmed a 10-minute total body Pilates workout, made up a random username by combining two things I loved doing - blogging and Pilates, and uploaded my first ever workout.
The site? YouTube.
The username? Blogilates.
Well, I think you already know what ended up happening.
What started as a simple video meant just for my 40 students at the gym ended up turning into one of the largest fitness communities in the world. Today, millions of people do POP Pilates® workouts globally and we have thousands of classes being taught live by certified instructors every single month! It’s so crazy - sometimes I still can’t believe it.
But you know what? I do believe it because POP Pilates® was built on a genuine willingness to help other people reach their own potentials - that is what makes this format unbreakable. We’re built on community. We’re built on passion. We’re built on spreading the joy of fitness.

How Do I Become a POP Pilates® Instructor?

Becoming a POP Pilates® instructor is not just about teaching fitness, it’s also about having the passion and ambition to make a difference.
In order to become POP certified:
- Register for our online training!
- Once you are officially enrolled, you will receive access to the POP Pilates® study materials.
- After attending the workshop, you will have 12 weeks to submit your video evaluation.
- You will become officially POP Pilates® certified once you pass the video evaluation and register for the Official Instructor POP Portal!
And from there, you will be whole-heartedly embraced into the POP family – a network of amazing, top quality instructors and awesome people.
